About Us

STraffic is a global transit technology company established in 1991, originally as part of Samsung before becoming an independent company in 2013. With a U.S. headquarters right outside Washington, DC in Vienna, Virginia, STraffic is ready to support transit agencies in the surrounding region and beyond, bringing a global track record of transit technology deployments to agencies across the Americas. Today, our solutions power approximately 3.8 billion riders annually across transit systems worldwide.

Our experience spans some of the most demanding transit environments in the world. STraffic helped Seoul Metro deliver transit services for the city of Seoul across multiple modes of transit, and for more than 20 years, we have successfully delivered and continue to sustain fare collection operations at that scale.

Implemented next-generation fare gates and centralized system monitoring, helping reduce fare evasion by 70–80%.

Ken Ki Hyung Cho

CEO

With nine years of experience at Samsung SDS, he contributed to large-scale technology initiatives before joining STraffic, a company established from Samsung's transportation technology business. Since then, he has played a key role in expanding STraffic's global transportation business and delivering major transit technology projects, including automated fare collection deployments for WMATA, BART, and LA Metro. Under his leadership, STraffic America continues to strengthen its presence in the North American market by providing reliable, scalable solutions for automated fare collection, intelligent transportation systems, and smart mobility.
